Day of remembrance

Not a day goes by that we do not remember you. Not a day goes by that we do not think of you or miss you with every part of our very being.

Today is the anniversary of the day your journey took a different path. A path we could not yet follow.

We know when it is time for us to take the path you will be there to hold our hands. You’ll help us get to where we are meant to be.

Today we think of the past. We share our memories and cherish every moment we had the pleasure of spending with you.

Our lives weren’t perfect but you gave us the best life you could. Not having materialistic things was okay because we had you instead.

Today our lives seem a little dimmer because you are not here to brighten our every day.

But, there will always be a flickering flame that is a constant reminder of the light and warmth your love brings to our hearts.

Today it has been seven years. Seven years of missing your smile, your laughter, your hugs. Seven years of missing you.

Every year I say it gets harder as time goes by. The sorrow is so deep we cannot help but to continue to weep.

Today we are stronger. We have realized we have to be. All those years you were preparing us for this, I understand that now.

  I understand that no matter what happens, good bad or indifferent we must learn from it and hold on to those lessons.

Today, tomorrow and forever we will remember you and continue to miss you

     then, now and always we will love you Mom
